The 127th journal club session in the Department of Health in Emergencies and Disasters
The one hundred twenty-seventh Journal Club session in the Department of Health in Emergencies and Disasters was held on Tuesday, Jun 22, 2021 (1400/04/1) by Mohammad Maniey, PhD student in Health in Emergencies and Disasters.
After surveys conducted by PhD students in Health in Emergencies and Disasters in the field of educational and research needs, two sessions about "Trustworthiness in qualitative researches” were held on the 1st and 8th of June. Each session lasted about two hours. The first two sessions were given by Dr. Allahbakhshi, respected faculty member at the department. After that, with the aim to better understand trustworthiness and check how it is written in qualitative studies, three articles were selected from reputable scientific journals in the field of disasters. These articles were explained on June 22 from 10:30 to 12:30 (Tehran time). Credibility, Confirmability, Transferability and Dependability were extracted and the strengths and weaknesses of each article were highlighted. Knowing that qualitative studies with in-depth explanation of trustworthiness is the key for the article’s acceptance, these discussions are the base for strengthening the research skills of the students.
