Introduction

Occupational Health Engineering Department started its activity in 1968 by offering courses at M.Sc. level in the field of Occupational Health and Industrial Safety. With the increasing needs of a developing society and increase in the number and diversity of environmental pollutions and pollutants dispersed by occupational and industrial environments, this department has become increasingly more active. This department has been training professional manpower at Masters and Ph.D. levels to the point that many of the faculty members of the Occupational Health Education departments affiliated with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education and the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology are among the graduates of this department. Considering the high potential of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and its School of Public Health and the expert faculty staffs, capable staff and quality equipment and facilities in the department, training specialized human resources and conducting applied scientific researches projects in addition to providing need-based services are among the most important strategies of the department

Mission 

The Occupational Health department considers participating in maintenance and promotion of national workforce and regional and international development of occupational health science by education, research and service activities among its most important responsibilities.

Vision 

Quantitative and qualitative development of higher education courses especially the Ph.D. programs by using domestic and foreign capabilities along with active participation in compiling and publishing HSE national standards, establishing research centers and reforming the national occupational health structure.
