Deputy for Research

 

Introduction: The Deputy for Research of the School of Public Health is responsible for organizing research affairs. As its first goal, this department arranges policies and research titles of the school as coordinated with the policies of the university. Moreover, this department is responsible for efficiently guiding researchers in the implementation of the stated policies and supervises their performance. Since the establishment of Research Department, the directors from earlier period to current have been Dr. GhiasoDin, Dr. NateghPour, Dr. Younesian, Dr. Eshraghian and Dr. Naseri.

Mission: Providing a suitable basis to perform research activities in order to meet the comprehensive plan of the university and the country, codifying the action plan and scientific research methods in employed by different departments of the school, increasing external revenue and resources of the university to further develop research projects, increasing national, regional and international cooperation, with especial considerations regarding the quality of papers (according to international indices), increasing the number of product-oriented researches with the aim of overcoming healthcare challenges of the country, providing a positive and competitive atmosphere for research activities of faculty members, meeting educational demands by research through running workshops and appropriate conferences

Vision: To achieve conditions that will lead the deputy to be the most appropriate location to conduct research-based activities and the resulting products contribute to the development of the school.

Program Overview:

  • Assessing research projects and assisting in their performance: accepting research projects which are prepared based on the rules and regulations of the deputy of research, forming research councils and reporting the comments of the council to researchers in written, follow-up on modifications according to the council's comments, investigating the revisions and preparing the projects to be resubmitted to the council (if necessary), planning the council meetings to submit the projects and coordinating to prepare the approved projects for prioritizing sessions, sending the approved projects online to the deputy of research, carrying out necessary correspondences, providing a finalized report of the researchers, and issuing research completion certificate to the deputy of research of the university.
  • Theses affairs: writing contracts for Ph.D., M.Sc., and MPH theses and coordinating with the deputy for finance about contracts and settlements.
  • Writing and translating books: coordinating to connect writers or translators with the university's deputy for research to gain permission to write and translate books.
  • Educational and research-based workshops: workshops will be conducted by/for the faculty members in the deputy for research after conducting analysis regarding the need for a research/education training workshop
  • Papers Affairs: the most prominent activity of this deputy is assessing research-based activities of the school (faculty members and scientific departments) in writing the scientific papers that was started in 2006. Conducting annual assessments: in addition to the improvements in the quality and quantity of published papers, it provides the School of Public Health a basis for positive and constructive competition among its various scientific departments.
