The department has trained and graduated more than 1000 students in MSc and Ph.D. courses. At the moment using about 19 academic staff members, not only the department accepts national applicants but also has started to accept and train international applicants among them students in MSc and Ph.D and post-doctoral might be named. Training the technician of malaria within the region of EMRO is the task of the department and lots of educated persons from different countries have passed these courses in collaboration with WHO. The backbone of the Iranian Society of Parasitology and Iranian Society of Mycology has originated from this department and in fact, the strategy and perspective of Parasitology and Mycology take shape within this department.
