The third session of the series of Iranian-German exchanges on volunteerism in disaster risk management under the framework of the INCREASE project
The third session of the series of Iranian-German exchanges on volunteerism in disaster risk management under the framework of the INCREASE project was held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.
Speakers at the third Joint Meeting were Mr. Nicolas Bock, from the Disaster Research Unit of the Freie Universität Berlin with the title of volunteerism in health emergencies and disaster actions, scope and opportunity in Germany, and also Dr. Fatemeh Rezaei faculty member of the Health in Disasters and Emergencies Department, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences with the title of community-based organizations participation in health program in disaster training and networking. After presenting the speakers and transferring information and experiences of both Iranian and German sides, professors and guests from both countries discussed and asked questions about the issues raised.
This collaboration within the INCREASE project aims to establish a joint exchange on civilian volunteerism in Iran and Germany. The main focus is on volunteerism in the civil protection of both countries. Participating institutions from both countries are interested in learning more about the nature and practices of volunteerism in the partner country, and are looking forward to contributing to this exchange. The exchange is open for interested institutions from both countries to join. Participants can add topics of interest.
This project will be held virtually on the first available Wednesday of each month in cooperation with the Department of Health in disasters and emergencies of Tehran University of Medical Sciences and the German Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW).
