Introduction: The Department of Disaster and Emergency Health was established in 2005 based on common program of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education with the School of Public Health. This department has been the main partner of the Ministry of Health in issues related to education and research of disaster management and has been a key element in such programs. Among the most important achievements of this department are the establishments of the Disasters and Emergencies Health MPH program in 2007 (the first national and regional program of its type) and Ph.D. course in 2009. This department is a member of the Crisis Management Team of the United Nations in the Islamic Republic of Iran and is the representative of the Central Asia in Global Network of Civil Society Organizations for Disaster Reduction. Additionally, the department of Disaster and Emergency Health has published about 75 articles in reputable national and international journals. This department nationally and internationally is active in matters related to disasters and emergencies
Mission: The Disaster and Emergency Health Department aims to train higher education students and develop scientific evidence to be used by policymakers and managers in the field of Crisis Management.
Vision:Disaster and Emergency Health Department intends to be the most reputable academic department in the field of disasters and emergency health in Eastern Mediterranean region and one of the most reputable ones in the world.
