Health Promotion and Education Department
Introduction: The Health Promotion and Education Department was one of the oldest scientific departments of the School of Public Health at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. This department is established simultaneously with the School of Public Health in 1966 as one of its main sections. According to the resolution passed in the Development Committee of the Ministry of Health and Medical Sciences in 2006, the Health Services Department was divided into two departments: the Health Management and Economics and Health Promotion and Education. The latter is committed to combine education, research and health services as a linked process of planning, implementation and evaluation of health education policies.

Mission: Exploring, refining and facilitating education interventions and strategies which would allow various individuals and societies to have and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Vision: This department tries to empower students to promote individual and social health and emphasizes improvement of quality of life and healthy lifestyle.
